Putts & More was created by three families to provide employment opportunities in an integrated environment for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Owner (and Price Center board member), Jim Giammarinaro of Ashland and his family opened the mini-golf course to provide their son Nick, 23, with the skills to get a job. Jim and Marion Giammarinaro, Nick’s parents, adopted him from an orphanage in Russia when he was two. Nick was severely underweight--only 18 pounds—and suffered from a condition called “failure to thrive,” when he was adopted. Because of that childhood condition, he struggles with anxiety. Jim knows that people with special needs can succeed in the right environment, recognized that Nick loves landscaping, and bought the mini-golf course to help him and others like Nick.
Putts & More also employs several individuals from The Price Center. Every summer a work crew from The Center goes out the course two days a week to help with landscaping, cleaning the course and watering the flowers. They are paid the same as the other employees at the course.
Every gift to The Price Center helps transform the life of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You are truly improving the quality of life for our individuals when you make a gift to The Price Center.
The Price Center empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to thrive in their living, social and work communities.
