You have the power to improve lives!

Enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities has long been my passion.   I am fortunate to work every day with a remarkable Price team of dedicated managers, staff and volunteers who share that passion.  As I witness their endeavors and see how those we serve are empowered and their lives enriched, I am proud of my affiliation with The Price Center.  I know that you will be as well, if you become involved with us.

Our focus here is personalized.  The Price Center team provides the support that each individual needs to thrive and to have the best possible life experiences and outcomes.  Expert care partnered with creative, innovative programming supports personal growth and is designed to satisfy each person’s needs and life time goals.  At The Price Center, we nurture community participation through social, living and work experiences. We help each individual gain his or her optimum level of independence while being respectful of individual preference and diversity. For example, one of our newest programs addresses self-advocacy and empowerment. Participants are mentoring each other and learning to express themselves more effectively.  Concurrently, they are gaining self-esteem, and confidence in their own abilities.  As a result, some have begun to advocate for various public issues and community needs such as voter registration and have successfully lobbied the City of Newton for a new cross walk at a dangerous intersection near The Center.

By providing a secure family - oriented environment, personalized services and life training opportunities - The Price Center is a place where families know that their loved ones will be able to take some risks, try new tasks or learn a new skill in a safe and nurturing environment. That makes all the difference to individuals and our Price families.

Yet, The Price Center is so much more than a service or specialized program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities… it is “Family.”

From the moment you enter our building, you may be greeted by a warm “hello”, a handshake or even a friendly hug from an individual passing by who may be here for job training, or one of the day programs or other services.  By your second visit, you will probably know some of the names and faces here and someone may want to share something they are working on, thinking about or accomplished but, most of all, you will feel truly welcome here!  A visitor recently told me that The Price Center is one of the friendliest and most welcoming places she knows.

  • Please come for a visit and a tour of our new home at 25-27 Christina Street in Newton.

  • Become an Ambassador for us as we reach out to people across our communities to show how The Price Center has become such an effective model for service and programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

  • Be our Advocate and tell others about your first-hand experiences here. And if you have an interest, ask us how you can become involved with The Price Center.

Please help The Price Center and our family make a difference to the hundreds of lives we touch so that we can continue to empower those we serve to thrive.

Thanks for your interest and support,
